Simon Freer won the opening round of this year's Raskelf Winter Series with 22lb 3oz of F1s on polaris float. Eric Wright was second with a catch of F1s for 21lb 12oz, with Andy Jacques third on 17lb 13oz of ide on pole and maggot. The next round of the four-match series will take place on Sunday, January 25. Cowthorpe will be closed on Sunday for the last open match of the year, with tickets still available from Simon on 01274-571175. Extra care should be taken on all club waters as temperatures drop and ice begins to form. The club now have a range of merchandise available for members to purchase. LISTERHILL AA

Membership books for 2015 will be available from the usual outlets by the end of next week at no increase in price. Last week's members' match was won by E Harrison with a catch of small roach taken on bread punch. Result of the committee match fished at Pilley's: 1 E Harrison 1lb 10oz, 2 D Jackson 6oz, G Reeday (3½oz). Next year's event will be fished earlier in the season.

HEWENDEN AC

All members are welcome to enter the Christmas Cheer coarse match on Sunday. It costs £10, with a 9am draw in the car park. Good luck to all. As part of our ongoing restocking programme, we are pleased to announce that over 900 bream have been added this week.

BINGLEY AC

An influx of water overnight meant that fishing was more difficult than expected at this year's Christmas Cheer match on Sunday. Despite the conditions, most anglers managed to catch fish. Result: 1 J Storey 2lb 9oz, 2 I Needs 2lb 4oz, 3 J Clarke 1lb 5oz.

BRADFORD SEA AC

Our next meeting is the Christmas Cheer on Tuesday at the New Inn, East Bierley, where everybody who attends should bring a raffle prize so that everyone is a winner. There will also be a buffet. Wives or girlfriends are welcome.
