THERE was a heavyweight Bradford League clash as Yeadon B and Unity C put their unbeaten Division Two records on the line.

Yeadon had dropped only five sets in winning their first three matches, while Unity conceded only eight.

But it was hosts Yeadon who proved to have the match-winner in Chris Sanderson.

Yeadon led 3-2 at halfway as Sanderson dropped just one game in beating Jim Ferry and Dave Renton, while David Rawlins kept Unity in the hunt with wins over Michael Chang and Derek Greenwood.

The home side then moved up a gear as Chang mastered both Ferry and Renton, with Sanderson edging Rawlins 11-8 in the fifth game.

Greenwood then beat Ferry in the last singles for a 7-3 success to keep Yeadon in pole position.

Pudsey B look the strongest team in Division Three and made it four wins on the trot by triumphing 8-2 at Hermits H, Alex Waring maintaining his unbeaten record with three singles.

Steve Smith lost his unbeaten tag, going down 14-12 in the decider to Brian Cooper, but Smith and Maurice Wrigley both won two as Pudsey maintain their impressive start.
