Simon Foster won the final members' match of the year, at Roecliffe, with 40 roach for 5lb 6oz. Second place went to Ian Newby with 4lb 8oz of silver fish, followed by Matt Foster (3lb 5oz) and Howard Foster (3lb 4oz). Howard also won the aggregate weight trophy for the seven-match series with 83lb 14oz. Thank you to all members who attended the annual meeting. Due to misuse, guest tickets will no longer be available for Knotford. Howsham Wood on the River Derwent will be closed on Sunday for an outside booking. Cowthorpe is worth a visit for chub and barbel. Please could any members willing to volunteer as a bailiff contact the head bailiff.

LISTERHILLS AA

Result of members’ match at Pilley’s: 1 J Storey 2lb 3oz (mixed catch), 2 E Harrison 1lb 9oz, 3 G Reeday 8oz. All others anglers had only the odd small fish. The draw for tomorrow’s open match at Rodley is at 9am by the bridge. Bookings are being taken for the match at Hunters Lodge on Sunday, October 19. Pegs have been cut out on the canal at Armley,. This venue provided two big perch for Trevor, fishing his usual swim. The trip to Aldwark by our veterans produced good catches of quality roach for E Harrison and G Kitchen. A reminder that items found on the bank must be handed in to the secretary.

SALTAIRE AA

The first river matches of the season are planned for Sundays November 2 and 9. Contact Barrie on 07902-493139 for details and to book on. Bradford Council's environment and climate change unit are holding a further public consultation in relation to the Saltaire Hydro Power Scheme in the Shipley Library meeting rooms next Friday (noon-5pm) and a week tomorrow (2pm-4.30pm). This scheme is in Roberts Park at Salts Mill Weir and impacts our fishing rights. We would encourage all members who can to visit this consultation and record their views about the scheme.

WASHBURN VALLEY FISHERY

Catch details for week ending October 5 – Day ticket: Fewston 23, Swinsty 2. Total fish caught: Fewston 71, Swinsty 3. Average per rod: Fewston 3.1, Swinsty 1.5. The heaviest fish caught was a 4lb rainbow trout by Alan Bielby using Black Hopper. Fewston: cooler mornings have seen trout retreat to deep water, only to return and feed near the surface as the day warms. Swinsty: Perch in abundance chasing spinners, always hungry. Thruscross: Close season.

BINGLEY AC

The next coarse match will be this on Sunday, 9am draw in the car park, £10 all in. The first pike match will be held on Sunday, October 26, also with a 9am draw in the car park, £10 all in, all members welcome.
