BRADFORD Dragons have snapped up three new additions for the new season.

Tamás Szlávik and Maciek Ko?ciuk both came to the attention of head coach Chris Mellor during this summer's basketball Eurocamp, which was hosted by the Dragons for the 11th successive year.

Szlávik, who collected the most valuable player award at the camp, previously played in the Hungarian Second Division with Veszpr?m KK. The 27-year-old forward also won the Division Two title in 2009 with Sopron SMAFC.

Mellor said: "Tamás will give us a presence both inside on the boards and also on the perimeter. He is a smart player with good all-round fundamental skills."

Ko?ciuk, known as 'Magic', formerly competed with Gimbasket Wroclaw in the second tier of Poland's national league. He is a young point guard who is expected to progress well with the Dragons.

He is an extremely quick player who will provide a spark from the bench, both offensively and defensively, and will combine playing for the club with his studies at Bradford University.

The Dragons have also signed another guard in ex-Leeds Carnegie (now renamed Leeds Force) player Rafi Saipe.

He has moved the short distance to play for Bradford after not being included in the Leeds roster for their first season in the British Basketball League.

Mellor said: "Rafi is a player who not only holds the ball well but is also just as capable shooting and coming off the boards.

"He reads the game well and, when he is back up to full fitness, will be a tenacious defender."

All three players will be in action in tomorrow's National Trophy game against Derby Trailblazers. Tip-off at Bradford College Sports Hall, Trinity Road, is 6.15pm.
