Average per rod: Fewston 4.3, Swinsty 2, Thruscross 4. Heaviest fish caught was a 4lb 12oz blue trout by Derek Smith using dry daddy. Fewston: Trout rising to fly all day long. Exciting fishing as trout feed from the surface. Swinsty: Perch and roach taking worm trotted slow. Once again, more perch caught than recorded. Thruscross: Wild brown trout feeding on daddy long legs and heather fly blown on to the water.

Result of Hirst Cup match at Raskelf: 1 John Walsh 32lb 10oz (F1s on waggler), 2 Fred Prudham 32lb 3oz, 3 Nick Freer 25lb 13oz, 4 Graham Jackson 25lb 3oz.
