Parker still part of Leeds plans
Ben Parker has been assured by manager Gary McAllister that he has a bright future with Leeds United.
The 20-year-old left back spent last season on loan at City where he made 40 appearances and is currently on loan at League Two
promotion contenders Darlington, whom the Bantams face on Saturday.
The decision to loan Parker out again was surprising as he had enjoyed a run of five games in United's first team shortly before his departure and had hoped to make the left back spot his own.
However, McAllister said: "I had a chat with Ben before he went on loan. He has a big future here.
"He is a young player who has come through the ranks and I am keen to keep up a tradition of academy players coming through into the first team.
"It needs a bit of time in
pre-season working with him and another youngster, Paul Huntington, but they will both have a big part to play."
Carlisle-born central
defender Huntington, also 20, was signed by Dennis Wise from Newcastle in a £200,000 deal but is being kept out of the side by Rui Marques and Lubo Michalik.
Meanwhile, Alan Sheehan is hoping to pin down the left back spot after admitting he made a terrible start to his loan spell at Elland Road.
The Republic of Ireland under-21 international, on loan from Leicester City until the end of the season, played four games in a row before being dropped and said: "Being honest, I would have to say the standards I set myself were unacceptable in the first four games."
Sheehan was recalled to the starting line-up last Saturday for the victory over Walsall and produced a much better display.
He added: "I owed that to the fans. I wanted to show them what I can do and thank them for the patience they have shown."
