    Merris set for Guiseley debut

A repeat of the midweek scoreline would suit Guiseley manager Steve Kitterick as they head to Whitby Town tomorrow afternoon looking for three points to stay in the hunt for the play-offs in the UniBond Premier Division.

The Yorkshiremen went to Hednesford Town on Monday for another tricky away game and romped to a 5-2 win.

The squad is also boosted by new signing Dave Merris, the return of James Cotterill from a three-game suspension and Lee Pugh.

"We can add Dave Merris now," said Kittrick. "We paid money to get him here from Harrogate Town and he will be a great signing for us. We have been looking for an experienced left-sided player and he ticks all the right boxes.

"Cotty comes back into the reckoning after his ban but we will have to wait and see about Lee. He scored a cracker when we drew 1-1 with Witton Albion last Saturday but missed the Hednesford game.

"He had an in-growing toe nail removed and it is just a case of how quickly he recovers from that.

"Apart from that we have no new injuries. We have been lucky with the two games in three days.

"With so many players available I have a selection headache.

"My biggest beef with our players is that they sometimes don't put the same effort in when we play a club lower in the table. A little bit of complacency creeps in and that mindset has to be eradicated."
