Dean Windass does not expect any afters from Cheltenham's John Finnegan at Valley Parade tomorrow - because he's "never heard of him".

The Cheltenham skipper was sent off for elbowing Windass in September after accusing him of grabbing his testicles.

Finnegan, who had previously never been shown a red card in 350 appearances, labelled Windass a "cheat" at the time and blasted: "I had a lot of respect for him as a player but that's gone now. You don't need to do things like that in football."

But the City striker is unconcerned at the prospect of facing Finnegan - and admits he wouldn't recognise him again.

"I haven't got a clue who this lad is," he said. "But I suppose talking about Dean Windass gets his name in the paper and gives him 15 minutes of fame. Let him say what he likes but things go on in football matches all the time. I've been kicked and punched and all sorts and you just learn to get on with it.

"I certainly won't be looking for any trouble tomorrow and I'm sure their manager John Ward will be telling the lad it's gone now and to move on."

City are chasing their first win double of the season after a 2-1 victory at Whaddon Road. But that was during the early-season purple patch before City hit the rocks.

With only three goals in the last nine games, Windass admits the team's scoring drought is a huge worry. And despite bagging ten himself, the hitman is desperate for others to start chipping in.

He added: "I had a couple of good chances at Millwall after the ban when I should have scored and didn't. There were no excuses for that.

"But in the last two games we've been feeding off scraps up front and you need more support.

"I know Sean O'Driscoll did his homework with Doncaster to close me down and I felt there were two men on me all the time. If that's the case, then you've got to look somewhere else to produce.

"People have to look at themselves and take the bull by the horns more. If I'm being marked out the game, then you look for others to get forward more."

Richard Edghill is expected to take Nathan Doyle's role at right back after recovering from a stomach upset. Ben Parker could also replace Matt Clarke on the left.
