RYAN Sidebottom took three morning wickets to keep Yorkshire on course for a Specsavers County Championship win over Durham at Headingley.

The veteran new-ball seamer reduced Durham from 49-3 to 63-6 with his trio of wickets in 18 balls.

The visitors, who had resumed on 39-3, eventually reached lunch on the final day at 129-7 from 47 overs thanks also to a Tim Bresnan wicket.

Sidebottom had nightwatchman Graham Onions (6) caught by a diving Gary Ballance at cover before trapping both Scott Borthwick (9) and Paul Collingwood (9) lbw, the latter batsman offering no shot.

Michael Richardson (30no) and Graham Clark shared 49 for the seventh wicket to give Durham some respite before Bresnan broke the stand when he had the latter player caught behind for 25 with the score on 112 in the 43rd over.
