YORKSHIRE moved beyond 450 during the second morning against Durham at Headingley but failed to pick up the maximum five batting points.
The defending champions, seeking a hat-trick of County Championship titles, advanced from 341-5 overnight to 460 all out at lunch.
Tim Bresnan, Andrew Hodd, Steve Patterson, Azeem Rafiq and Jack Brooks all fell during the session.
Bresnan made 22, Hodd 31, Rafiq 45 and Brooks 36, including a big six over long-on off Scott Borthwick's leg-spinners.
Unfortunately, the hosts fell eight runs short of a fifth batting point at 392-7, with Patterson (4) playing out a maiden to Graham Onions in the 110th over.
