YORKSHIRE'S pursuit of a crucial Specsavers County Championship win over Hampshire at the Ageas Bowl has been halted by bad light and rain.

The champions advanced their second-innings score from 69-1 off 23 overs overnight to 134-2 in the 40th, a lead of 193.

Yorkshire lost Adam Lyth caught at first slip off Brad Wheal's first ball of the morning for 56, leaving the score at 101-2 in the 32nd over.

It ended a 62-run stand with Gary Ballance, who will resume on 46 when the weather plays ball. He has Andrew Gale for company on ten.

There was no play possible beyond 12.15pm due to the weather.
