YORKSHIRE continued their domination of the County Championship clash with Nottinghamshire as they looked to build on a substantial advantage at Scarborough.
Having secured a first-innings lead of 188 by bowling Nottinghamshire out for just 94 in the morning session, openers Adam Lyth and Alex Lees went about setting a formidable target for the visitors.
Lees signalled the intentions of the Yorkshire batsman as he hit Steven Mullaney for four successive fours in just the fifth over of the innings.
He and Lyth put on 72 for the first wicket before Lees was adjudged lbw to Brett Hutton for a well-made 30, while Lyth (41) offered a return catch to Luke Wood as he looked to play into the leg-side.
That left stand-in captain Gary Ballance and Jake Lehmann to bat in a more measured fashion as they took the score to 115-2 at tea, with Yorkshire now leading by 303.
Ryan Sidebottom had earlier sparked a remarkable Notts collapse as he took three wickets before Jack Brooks and Tim Bresnan claimed two each of their own to humble the visitors.
