YORKSHIRE have lost Andrew Gale and Alex Lees in the eighties during the third morning against Lancashire at Emirates Old Trafford as they bid to reach the follow-on target of 345 in their Specsavers County Championship Division One clash.

Replying to Lancashire’s 494, Yorkshire have advanced from 136-2 overnight to 243-4 from 93 overs at lunch.

Gale, chasing a first century of the season, and Lees completed a third-wicket stand of 130 before the latter was trapped lbw by Kyle Jarvis for 85.

Jake Lehmann has played strongly down the ground for his unbeaten 28, while Gale also impressed in his 83.

He reached 50 off 162 balls before steering Tom Smith to gully in the penultimate over of the morning.

Meanwhile, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow and Gary Ballance are all available for Yorkshire’s Royal London One-Day Cup quarter-final against Kent on Thursday and then Saturday’s Twenty20 Cup Finals Day.
