YORKSHIRE'S Danielle Hazell believes title success in the inaugural Kia Women's Super League is a realistic target after being announced as one of the Diamonds' four England recruits.

The Durham-born off-spinner was part of the county's Championship title win last summer to continue the club's domination of English domestic cricket at both men's and women's level.

Each of the six WSL teams were today allocated either three or four England players by the ECB, with Hazell joined by Lauren Winfield, Katherine Brunt and Notts bowler Jenny Gunn.

Given their recent success, it would be no surprise to see the Diamonds installed as favourites for the competition, which starts in late July.

And Hazell, who missed the recent World T20 in India through injury, said: "It was a great achievement for us to win the Championship last year.

"Three of the four England players who have been announced were all involved, so we're looking to push on now.

"The first year of the Super League is very exciting. To win it would be a great achievement.

"We're quite confident because we have a good selection of England players and with Yorkshire having won the Championship last year.

"But it is the first year of the competition, and I suppose we're going into it a little bit blind.

"We're excited to see how it will pan out. It's great for women's cricket. It could be a massive competition.

"Some of the grounds we're going to be playing at are brilliant.

"I've played at a few at international level, but for some of the other girls who haven't, it's going to be a massive experience."

The Diamonds, coached by Rich Pyrah, start their campaign against Loughborough Lightning at Headingley on July 30.

It is the first of two home matches at Headingley, while their other matches take place at The Oval, The Ageas Bowl and Emirates Old Trafford.

The blockbuster Roses clash against Sarah Taylor's Lancashire Thunder takes place under lights on Friday, August 12.

It is the day before the men's Championship match there, and Hazell expects it to be a "spicy" affair.

Finals Day will take place at Chelmsford on Sunday, August 21.

The allocation of each team's three overseas players and then the full 15-player squads will be revealed within the next fortnight.

And Hazell is already delighted with how Yorkshire's squad is shaping up.

"Myself, Lauren and Katherine have played a lot of cricket together," she said. "We know each other well, and we've gelled together.

"Jen is a fantastic international player, so she is a great addition for us as well.

"With the overseas players coming in, it's going to be the best against the best and a true reflection of where your game's at. It is very exciting."

Fast bowler Brunt, who like Hazell played in the Australian Big Bash during the winter, is also relishing the prospect of representing the Diamonds – especially at Headingley.

"The year gone, I got to play for Yorkshire at Headingley in a T20 friendly against Notts, and it was the best day ever," she added.

"Just the privilege of playing at Headingley before a men's game was absolutely awesome. It was something that I've wanted to do since I started playing for Yorkshire.

"To play our Super League games there is going to be amazing, especially for the youngsters."
