JACK Brooks certainly made Bingley Congs' annual prize presentation evening go with a swing at Bradford & Bingley Sports Club.
The Yorkshire pace bowler not only presented all the prizes but also answered at least one question from every table and also stayed behind to chat socially for over an hour.
Ben Hemsley picked up three awards – under-17 bowling (10.83 average)and under-15 batting (37.75) and bowling (9.83) – but he was run close by Australian Tom Mackenzie (first-team batting, 713 at 31.00, and fielding, four points, 11 catches, three run outs) and Charlie Raistrick (second-team batting, 481 at 40.08, and fielding, four points, five catches).
Brothers Jonny (second-team bowling, 42 at 14.14) and Jamie Teale (most improved player in the club) were also honoured, while the Bleazard Trophy for clubman of the year went to secretary and first-team captain Dave Tarren, who also initiated coaching for the under-nines.
Others honoured were: Neil Copping (first-team bowling, 45 at 11.82), Ben Stowell (under-17 batting, 129 at 43.00), Matty Roberts (first-team captain's award), Derek Briggs (second-team captain's award), Matty Brian (under-17 players' player), Max Pearson (under-15 players' player) and Wayne Exley (Duck Trophy).
