JACK Brooks and Ryan Sidebottom continued Yorkshire’s dominance over Middlesex during the second morning of their LV= County Championship match at Lord’s.
The bowling pair starred with the bat during a tenth-wicket stand of 78 as the White Rose, replying to 106, advanced from 238-9 to 299 all out just over an over into the day.
Brooks, having been dropped in the gully on 12 five balls into the day, finished 50 not out off 69 balls, while Sidebottom was caught and bowled on 28 by Tim Murtagh to end the innings.
That gave Yorkshire a lead of 193, and Middlesex reached lunch at 50-0 from 14 overs thanks to Sam Robson’s 32 and 18 for Paul Stirling.
