Yorkshire lost six wickets for 39 runs inside eleven overs to stifle their innings in the Royal London one-day Cup quarter-final against Essex at Chelmsford, and they could only post 252-9.
Having been invited to bat on a slow pitch, the Vikings were in decent shape at 163-3 in the 34th over with top-scorer Jack Leaning, who finished with 72, and England batsman Gary Ballance together.
But they slipped against Ravi Bopara, Ryan ten Doeschate and Reece Topley, leaving the score at 202-9 deep into the 45th.
Both men fell, as did Will Rhodes, Adil Rashid, Tim Bresnan and Steve Patterson, with left-arm seamer Topley finishing with 4-56 from ten overs.
Thankfully, however, they were boosted significantly by a last-wicket stand of 50 unbroken between Liam Plunkett and Matt Fisher. Plunkett dominated with a superb 49 not out off 32 balls, including three sixes and three fours.
