YORKSHIRE have not had things all their own way during the opening day of their LV= County Championship match against Sussex at Hove, which has reached tea with them at 227-5 after 64 overs.

The White Rose have lost three wickets during the afternoon to slip from 110-2 to 203-5, with Andrew Gale for 39, Alex Lees for 69 and Glenn Maxwell for 43 all falling.

Sussex have been led by former Yorkshire seamer Ollie Robinson, who has taken three wickets on a sluggish pitch.

Chris Jordan trapped Gale lbw before Robinson forced Lees to chop on to his leg bail and then had Maxwell caught at first slip.

Gary Ballance has reached an unbeaten 47 and Adil Rashid has scored only two.
