LIAM Plunkett claimed three wickets, including two in an over, as Durham were restricted to a 43-over score of 224-7 during the ongoing Royal London Cup clash at Emirates Durham.
Yorkshire will be confident of claiming their third Group A win from five having won the toss, with Plunkett getting three of the hosts’ four top-scorers on his former home ground.
The England bowler, a possible candidate for the fourth Ashes Test at Trent Bridge this week, had Phil Mustard and Scott Borthwick caught behind and at deep square-leg respectively for 32 apiece in the 20th over and Graham Clark caught at point having miscued a pull shot for 42.
A 75-minute delay for rain from 10.30am meant the loss of seven overs per side before Tim Bresnan struck twice and Steve Patterson and Adil Rashid once each.
