YORKSHIRE are closing in on a lead of 400 during the latter stages of day three of their LV= County Championship match against Warwickshire at Edgbaston.

Thirty six overs have been lost due to weather during the first two sessions of the day but the champions are still very much on course for a fourth successive victory, with a lead of 371.

Jack Leaning was the first of three wickets to fall today, caught behind off Boyd Rankin for 46 before third-wicket pair Will Rhodes and Aaron Finch shared 67 in 12.3 overs, advancing the score from 152-2 after Rhodes and Leaning had completed their stand of 94.

Rhodes was caught behind for 79 off Oliver Hannon-Dalby to leave the score at 219-3 deep into the session, and Andrew Gale followed - bowled by off-spinner Jeetan Patel for one.

Yorkshire have reached tea, with 32 overs left in the day, on 227-4 from 70. Finch is 46 not out and Jonny Bairstow one.
