YORKSHIRE are closing in on a 200-run first-innings lead during the third day of their LV= County Championship match against Nottinghamshire at Headingley.

The hosts lost three wickets inside the first six overs of play and four inside the first 70 minutes as they fell to 368-7 in the 97th over, but they have claimed the maximum five batting points for passing 400.

The champions have reached lunch at 418-8 in the 111th over.

Stuart Broad got rid of both centurions - Andrew Gale for 148 and Jack Leaning for 110.

Gale was trapped lbw six balls into the day in the 83rd over and Leaning chopped on in the 87th.

Jonny Bairstow was bowled driving at Luke Wood for 15 before James Middlebrook later edged Australian Ben Hilfenhaus to second slip.

Tim Bresnan and Steve Patterson shared 50 for the eighth wicket, with Patterson caught behind off Broad (23). Bresnan will resume this afternoon on 48.
