YORKSHIRE have taken three wickets during a weather-interrupted opening afternoon against Nottinghamshire at Headingley, leaving the visitors in trouble at 139-7 from 41.5 overs.

Jack Brooks had Samit Patel and Will Gidman lbw in the early stages of the session, the former in the first over after lunch, before Ryan Sidebottom got Riki Wessels the same way as the score slipped to 133-7.

Wessels is Nottinghamshire’s top-scorer at present with 33, although Stuart Broad is 20 not out.

Rain has meant no play has been possible beyond 2.30pm.

Meanwhile, Aaron Finch has been sent for a precautionary X-ray after suffering a blow to his rib cage while batting for Yorkshire’s second team against Worcestershire at Barnt Green today.
