ADIL Rashid fell for 99 during an elongated afternoon session of day four - but the England squad man contributed significantly to Yorkshire’s successful bid to claim a draw against Somerset at Taunton.

With one short session left in this LV= County Championship match, Yorkshire reached tea at 407-9 in their second innings, a lead of 361 with a possible 19 overs left in the match.

Yorkshire lost three wickets in the afternoon. Tim Bresnan was trapped lbw for 29 by Johann Myburgh’s off-spin, ending an 89-run stand for the seventh wicket with Rashid, who was caught at short fine-leg off the same bowler.

Liam Plunkett was then run out by a Jamie Overton throw to the striker’s end from mid-on.

Rashid, who hit 12 fours in 198 balls, was the second man to fall for 99 in the match after Somerset’s Tom Cooper yesterday.

Steve Patterson and Jack Brooks resume a last-wicket stand of 53 after tea, having made 34 and 23 respectively.
