YORKSHIRE will fly England one-day trio Jonny Bairstow, Tim Bresnan and Adil Rashid back from Dublin on Friday night after being given ECB clearance to charter their own private plane to Leeds.

The White Rose county want the players to train on Saturday ahead of Sunday’s LV= County Championship match against Hampshire at Headingley.

England face Ireland in a one-day international at Malahide on Friday, with the squad only due to land in Birmingham on Saturday afternoon, making county training impossible.

“It is unprecedented times,” explained Yorkshire chief executive Mark Arthur.

“We have had six players away for three Championship matches, and then England come back from the Caribbean and have arranged a one-day game in Ireland, where we have three of our players called up.

“Martyn Moxon, in particular, was very upset how long it would take these guys to get back.

“Once we couldn’t get them back in time, we looked at the possibilities of chartering a flight at a reasonable time so that they have opportunities to practise with the red ball on Saturday.

“We have also contacted Hampshire, and they have agreed for James Vince to come back early with our lads.

“The timing is difficult for all parties concerned with this one-off match taking place in Ireland.

“We fully understand the difficulties the ECB face, and they fully support this. They have made allowances for the lads to travel back separately.”

Bairstow and Rashid, non-playing members of England’s Test squad in the Caribbean, last played first-class cricket for Yorkshire against the MCC in Abu Dhabi in March.
