A stunning fourth-wicket stand of 110 inside 18 overs between Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root opened the door for Yorkshire to chase a season-ending win against Somerset at Headingley.
The champions lost only two wickets in the morning session, Gary Ballance lbw to Peter Trego for 69 and Bairstow caught behind for 49 off Jamie Overton.
Yorkshire reached lunch at 290-4, a lead of 106, with Root resuming this afternoon on 86 and Jack Leaning yet to get off the mark. They had started their second innings 184 runs behind.
