Yorkshire have revealed that they will not be offering a new contract to off-spinner Azeem Rafiq, who will leave Headingley at the end of the season following a disappointing last two campaigns.
The 23-year-old, who has captained Yorkshire in T20 cricket, is now free to speak with other counties having only played 27 matches across all forms since the start of 2013.
“I’m naturally sad to be leaving the club,” said Rafiq. “I’m hopeful that the chance to get more regular first-team opportunities under my belt will help continue my development and is the best thing for my cricket at this stage of my career.”
Yorkshire have also confirmed that Kane Williamson will miss the last two Championship matches due to Champions League T20 commitments with Northern Knights.
