Yorkshire’s top order have found life tough during a rain-affected opening morning against Northamptonshire at Headingley today.

Andrew Gale’s side, having won the toss, have reached lunch on 39-2 from 19 overs. Adam Lyth and Kane Williamson have both fallen cheaply.

The Northants’ seamers have used the significant swing on offer to their advantage either side of two short delays for rain.

Lyth was caught behind off former Bradford League fast bowler Azharullah in the fourth over before Williamson was trapped lbw by Andrew Hall at the end of his first over, leaving the score at 21-2 after 12.

Alex Lees will resume this afternoon on 19 and Gale on two.
