Adil Rashid scored his third hundred in as many LV= County Championship matches against Somerset as Yorkshire pushed on beyond 400 during the second morning of their clash at Taunton.
The Bradford all-rounder hit 108 off 190 balls in a visiting score of 434-8 from 126 overs at lunch, while Andrew Hodd added 55.
They advanced their sixth-wicket partnership, started yesterday evening, to 108 off 30 overs as Yorkshire secured the maximum five batting bonus points inside 110 overs. Somerset missed out on two of the three bowling points.
Rashid scored centuries in each of last year’s fixtures against the south-west county.
Craig Overton took two of three wickets to fall this morning, getting Hodd caught at second slip and Rashid held behind. Part-time off-spinner Johann Myburgh then had Ryan Sidebottom caught in the slips.
Liam Plunkett (16) and Steve Patterson were due to resume after lunch. Plunkett was dropped on 13 by Craig Meschede at mid-on shortly before the interval.
