Leaders Pudsey St Lawrence conquered Hanging Heaton and the rain to win by six wickets in a Bradford League Second Teams DIVISION ONE match reduced to 24 overs a side.

Skipper James Milligan (45), Luke Duckitt (45no) and Chris Hester (44) guided Saints past the challenging Hanging Heaton score of 184 for six, despite the efforts of Umar Rehman (3-30).

Michael Royce (68) and Nabeel Hafeez (58) had made half-centuries for Hanging Heaton.

It leaves St Lawrence with a four-point lead over Yeadon, who had to work hard for their five-run win at Undercliffe.

Graham Simpson’s unbeaten 67 enabled them to make 167 for seven but Undercliffe fought well and Craig Smith’s 60 meant they gave Yeadon a few anxious moments.

Farsley crowned a great day for their club with maximum points from a 113-run win over Woodlands.

Barry Frankland (87), James Higgins (65) and Joe Greaves (47) powered them to a score of 250 for eight, before dismissing Woodlands for 137 thanks to Ryan Lumb (4-34) and Christian Horner (3-45).

Woodlands were spared from a far heavier defeat by 16-year-old George Saville, who made 63.

Mahmood Farook made an unbeaten 93 as Bowling Old Lane beat Pudsey Congs by six wickets, Callum Oliver top scoring with 44 in Congs’ total of 136.

Baildon’s experienced spin bowler Jamie Abbott took four for 31 as they defeated bottom team Keighley by 39 runs.

Keighley were dismissed for 151 in reply to Baildon’s 190 for four, a score which included 42 from Chris Reynolds and 38 by Ross Todd.

The match between defending champions East Bierley and Cleckheaton was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to a waterlogged pitch.

Joe Ollerenshaw struck an unbeaten 114 as promotion-chasing Windhill defeated Great Horton by six wickets in DIVISION TWO.

Thanks to Ollerenshaw, Windhill were able to pace their reply to Great Horton’s score of 194 to perfection.

Zabair Ashraf (66) and Javed Akhtar (44) were the top scorers for Great Horton, with Dave Pearce (4-34) and Danny Maguire (4-53) Windhill’s key bowlers.

Leaders Lightcliffe were too good for lowly Bankfoot. Amir Jaqub’s 51 saw Lightcliffe to 181 for six, before dismissing Bankfoot for 96 (Kanwal Bhamvra 53).

Second-placed Bradford & Bingley picked up maximum points for beating Manningham Mills by 51 runs.

Michael Clarke (60), Warren Allitt (59) and Peter Clarke (51) steered Bradford & Bingley to 243 for four.

Mills were dismissed for 192 in reply as Rashid Latif picked up five for 51, Ethsham Jubbar making 47 for Mills.

Opener Adam Brown produced another telling contribution for Spen Victoria. He made 94 as his side defeated Saltaire by 50 runs, being supported by Amar Hussain (54no) as Spen made 232 for seven.

Brown completed a good all-round display by taking three for 39 as Saltaire, despite 63 from Usman Arshad, were dismissed for 182.

Lowly Idle recorded their first win as they beat Brighouse by eight wickets, Andy Masshedar (52no) and Nicky Hardaker (45) guiding them victory in a match reduced to 23 overs each.

Brighouse made 105 for seven batting first, with Chris Holdsworth hitting 41 and Nigel Elkin 36.

The match between Gomersal and Hartshead Moor was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
