The Tykes should be confident of continuing their good early season form at Durham this week in the County Championship.
Pundits were tipping Dale Benkenstein's men to better their 2007, which yielded a Friends Provident Trophy title and a second-placed finish in LV Division One.
But Durham have had a disastrous start to the new campaign, with their FPT defence close to ruins and having been blown away in last week's four-day game at Lancashire.
There will never be a better chance, despite injury concerns, for Yorkshire to take get another win under their belt.
It's strange how things can conspire against you. Benkenstein travelled back to South Africa for the birth of his child - understandable.
But overseas signing Neil McKenzie missed their game at Old Trafford because of a wedding on the evening of the third day.
It ended up being the final day's play - and the wedding was in Liverpool of all places.
Not exactly a return trek to Cape Town or Johannesburg.
