A disappointing batting display from Yorkshire means that they will have to produce an excellent display with the ball if they are to avoid defeat in their opening Pro 40 Division Two match against Essex at Chelmsford.
The White Rose were bowled out for just 157, although a last-wicket stand of 44 between captain Darren Gough and David Wainwright will give them hope ahead of Essex’s run chase.
Before that only Anthony McGrath and Rana Naved, who scored an impressive 57, had been able to reach double figures for Yorkshire, who were dismissed in just 36 overs.
It means the White Rose will now be looking for a similar performance with the ball from Naved, as they look to avoid a fourth consecutive defeat in all competitions.
