Shelf saw their chance of promotion slip when they lost to Towergate Halifax League Division Three leaders Stones by 16 runs.

Stones batted first and were soon under pressure, losing two early wickets, but their middle order batted steadily leaving Shelf 186 to chase.

Dave Maloney and Robert Ramsden were the pick of the bowlers, taking three wickets apiece.

Shelf's top order again failed to fire and were 50 for four.

Chris Maloney (54) and Andy Dimbleby (48) steadied the ship, putting on 70 runs, and Dave Maloney hit a quickfire 20 to leave Shelf needing 40 runs with four wickets left.

However, Shelf's lower order batsmen all failed to make decent inroads, leaving Shelf 16 runs short with four overs remaining Shelf's second team also saw their promotion chance diminish as well, losing to Booth. Shelf were 155 all out, Booth passing this score with five wickets in hand.
