Allerton won the clash of the top two in Division Two to secure the title in their first season in the Bradford & District Evening League.

Visitors Bingley Congs made 126 for six off 16 overs, thanks to an 86 opening stand from Simon Bailey (33) and Jake Best (47).

Skipper Chris Brown again led from the front as he made 55 not out to take his side to the brink of victory, and the win was claimed with four balls remaining.

Crossflatts tied their game at Shelf, which means that Congs are three points clear in second place and just need to win one of their remaining two games to claim promotion.

Matt Cavanagh (32) top-scored for the visitors, with Robert Ramsden claiming three wickets for seven runs.

Shelf lost early wickets in reply but Dave Maloney (28) and Steve Priestley (29no) ensured that the points were shared in a thrilling climax.

Cambing continued their recent good form with a win at John Breare, who have slipped below Bolton Villas in the table after their victory at Shipley Providence.

Haworth Road remain a point clear at the top of Division One after a win at challengers Taurus Sports.

Mansha Khan (50no) and Nadeem Mohammed (38) were the main contributors in Road’s 134 for seven, Taurus replying with 112 for eight after recovering from 11-2.

Windhill kept the pressure on the leaders with a nine-wicket win at home to Sandy Lane.

Scott Etherington (35no) and Paul Medley (30no) overhauled Sandy’s 93 for five with nearly four overs remaining.

Denholme kept their slim play-off hopes alive with a hard-fought win against Baildon Meths.

Chasing a total of 105 for six, Denholme were struggling at 22 for four but a 69-run fifth-wicket stand between Ben Burkhill (48) and Sam Wilkinson (26) rescued the home side, who eventually won with an over to spare.

Thornton’s convincing win over relegation rivals Indian Panthers means that they just need one more point to be certain of staying in Division One.
