Two Dales Council League records were shattered at Hepworth & Idle as Paul Medley led a run feast against Farsley.

Medley struck 207 to beat the previous DIVISION B B best and also shared a stand of 300 with Phil Haigh (89) for a new fifth-wicket league milestone.

This enabled Hepworth to recover from 25 for four as they eventually posted a massive 335 for nine, which included an impressive five for 40 by Stuart Tempest.

Ben Tempest contributed 95 for Farsley in reply but they could only muster 171 for nine.

Section leaders Drighlington logged another win as Tyson Illingworth (5-43) and Jake James (5-18) skittled out Leeds Sikh for 62.

This was in reply to a total of 181, which included a top score of 70 by Andy Shackleton.

Shipley Providence lost by ten runs to New Farnley, while Tong Park-Esholt won by four wickets against Baildon B as Louis Morton bagged five wickets for seven runs.

Runaway DIVISION A leaders Rodley almost tasted defeat for the first time as their last pair had to hold out for 14 overs to finish on 142 for nine after Crompark posted 173.

Halifax Direct made 206 in a welcome winning draw against Farnley Hill, who were restricted to 197 for eight in reply.

This was after Asghar Ali had taken five for 34, with Carl Best scoring 68 not out for Farnley. Shipley Providence are now just six points off top spot after a six-wicket win over Pudsey Congs, with Scott Sladen’s 60 proving decisive. Hawksworth held on with nine wickets down in the last over as they reached 184 in reply to Baildon’s 237 for seven, which had seen Jonny Baines run out on 75.

Leeds Sikh are steadily climbing the table and added to their recent successes with a win over New Wortley, while Hepworth & Idle secured a four-wicket victory over Adel.

Meanwood remain second in DIVISION C, despite being held to a draw by Crompark B.

Rob Guthrie (97no) and Rob Guest (6-27) led the way for Meanwood but Andy Halliday (55) held Crompark together.

Hyde Park stay top after notching 342 against Whitehall and then dismissing their opponents for 93.

Junior player Ryan Shorrocks struck 124 in New Farnley B’s total of 265, with Congs then bowled out for 157.

Baildon C won by 51 runs against New Farnley C thanks to Majid Hussain’s 95, while Undercliffe crashed to an eight-wicket loss against Cookridge.

Meanwhile, Mount and Leeds Sikh will contest the Pool Paper Mills Cup final after beating New Wortley and Shipley respectively.

The second-team Cawthorne Cup final will be between Crompark, who beat New Farnley B, and New Farnley C, who ended the reign of defending champions Hepworth & Idle.
