Defending champions Bradford Gymkhana A proved they are not ready to surrender the Bradford Mutual Sunday School title just yet after coming out on top in their top-of-the-table clash with GROUP A leaders Yorkshire LPS.
A top score of 51 from Gananfar Ali helped LPS to 140 but a matching effort by Mohammed Sharaz saw Gymkhana home by five wickets and cut their rivals’ lead at the summit to six points.
Stablemates Gymkhana B remain third after a comfortable win over Hallfield, which featured key half-centuries from Mohammed Arif (56) and Arif Khan (52).
Muff Field A topped 300 again as they notched up their ninth win of the season to stay well clear at the top of GROUP B.
Half-centuries from Younish Bismillah (72), Steve Broadbent (64) and Steve Copeland (53) and 46 from Ibrahim Bismillah powered Muff Field to an impressive 302 for five.
Frank Powell then reaped seven for 71 as mid-table Mandhata were bowled out for 152, which included a top score of 53 by Dilan Patel.
Heaton A remain ten points adrift in second place after logging a six-wicket win over Odsal Phoenix, who were all out for 122.
Neil Sutcliffe scored 70 and followed up with five for ten as Buttershaw Saint Pauls romped to a 130-run win by dismissing Cambing B for 97.
Meanwhile, the clash between the top two in GROUP C ended in a tie as Mohammed Sagar (57) helped Heaton B to 144 before West Bowling were all out for the same score despite the best efforts of Chris Carter (72).
Third-placed Great Horton Meths’ poor run of form continued as they lost by 40 runs to Cross Roads-Daisy Hill.
Adam Hussain struck 60 as Cross Roads posted 157 for seven and then took four for 26 as Great Horton were bowled out for 119, which included 70 by Anthony Moss.
