Cambing lose after surprising leaders LPS

Bradford Mutual Sunday School League leaders Yorkshire LPS maintained their 12-point advantage at the top of Group A yesterday.

Cambing stunned them by dismissing them for 94, thanks to Mohammed Ahmed's six for 25. But Abdul Ranade and Mahesh Kanath struck back, taking five wickets each as Cambing crashed to 56 all out.

A century from Mohammed Shakil and a half-century from Asif Khan helped guide Bradford Gymkhana to a comfortable win over Omars.

Bradford Gymkhana B moved into third after their win over Mayfield. Gary Smith took six for 57 as Gymkhana were bowled out for 114. Amir Raja took four for 18 as Mayfield were then dismissed for 96.

BPR pulled themselves out of a relegation spot with a win over Hallfield. Mohammed Amir Majid scored 66 and Ahmed Hameed 40 as BPR made 183. Abid Awan then took four for 46 as Hallfield finished on 130.

Muff Field notched up their eighth win of the season in Group B with an easy seven-wicket victory over Odsal Pheonix.

A half-century from Mohammed Khan and a five-wicket haul from Aftab Mansoor kept Heaton ten points back in second after their win over Mandhata.

Bowling Baptist picked up their first win of the season in their first match against fellow strugglers Cambing B.

In Group C, West Bowling had their lead cut to three points after a surprise loss to Muff Field B. Paul Birkinshaw's 71 helped Muff Field to 219 for eight before Alan Blackwell took four for 47 as West Bowling were bowled out for 126.

Second placed Heaton B just came out on top of their high-scoring game against Mayfield B. Jason Bartley made 80 and Kevin Dunne 53 as Mayfield reached 231 for eight from their 40 overs.

Asif Majid rounded off an all-round performance by scoring 63 after taking four for 70 as Heaton B won by two wickets.
