The steering committee which has put into place the merger between the Central Yorkshire League and the Leeds-West Riding League has been disbanded.
All major issues leading towards the inaugural season of the Central Yorkshire League Alliance in 2009 will now be handled by the Central Yorkshire League’s management committee, with member clubs given regular updates about proposals and progress.
However, certain positive and progressive elements of the steering committee’s findings will be utilised and there will also be executive input from the Leeds-West Riding League’s management committee.
The Leeds-West Riding League’s steering group are meeting tomorrow night to discuss the new proposals from the Central Yorkshire League.
Leeds-West Riding League clubs will discuss these proposals and the divisional constitution a week on Thursday.
New Central Yorkshire League chairman David Sharp has called the latter Leeds-West Riding League meeting ‘a selling job’ to convince them of the positive nature of the merger.
Sharp added, however, that after this meeting the Leeds-West Riding League would take a full and active part in the Alliance.
