Second-placed Leeds Sikh YMCA thrashed Crompark, who are third, by seven wickets to keep the pressure on DIVISION A table-toppers Shipley Providence in the Dales Council League.

Dave Robinson’s 58 guided Crompark to 179, Harcharan Seehra taking six for 62, but Leeds Sikh strolled to victory on 180 for three.

Shipley Providence remain top after beating Farsley by six wickets. Parminder Chauhan scored 50 in Farsley’s 117 for seven but that proved no great obstacle.

Rodley moved back to third after demolishing Hawksworth by nine wickets after the hosts collapsed to 58 all out.

Mount totalled 127 in a rain-affected winning draw against fellow strugglers Adel, who found Huzafar Patel (5-89) too hot to handle as they struggled to 117 for eight.

Farnley Hill had Joe Bedford hitting 52 in their 128 for three, before Richard Cowell’s seven for 50 earned maximum points as Pudsey Congs were all out for 124.

Jonny Baines (82no) and Phil Hiley (75) led Baildon to 199 for two but New Farnley closed on 153 for seven to claim two points from a losing draw.

Hepworth & Idle continued their dominance in DIVISION B, this time at the expense of relegation-threatened Meanwood.

Dave Matthews bagged seven for 20 as Meanwood slumped to 53 all out and the leaders lost four wickets in the chase.

Halifax Direct moved second after a four-wicket victory over New Farnley B, who were dismissed for 60 as Khizar Hanif claimed six for 25.

New Wortley, who have been deducted six points for fielding an ineligible player, are now third after a thumping 219-run win over Baildon B, who dropped from second as a result.

Mafooz Mohammed (89), Phil Worsnop (77) and Mohammed Rizwan (52) had helped Wortley to an impressive 283 for five.

Rodley (175-3) had Graeme Driver as top scorer with 78 in a rain-affected losing draw at home to Pudsey St Lawrence (153-8).

Shipley Providence B carded a welcome victory after defeating Old Modernians (101) by 37 runs, James Jeffery hitting 57.

And Esholt had Neil Cooper (5-31) and Adam Hodgson (53) to thank after overhauling Leeds Sikh YMCA B’s 85 for the loss of just one wicket.

Hepworth & Idle B, like their first team, are top of the table after declaring for the fourth consecutive match in DIVISION C.

This time they posted 180 for six, Phil Haigh scoring 68 not out, before dismissing bottom side Cookridge for 80.

Hyde Park’s Kashif Rehman (73no) was in no mood to allow the weather to intervene as he led his side to a seven-wicket victory over Pudsey Congs B, his side reaching their target of 153 in just 15 overs.

But Crompark B were relieved to see the rain and resulting abandonment after slumping to nine for five chasing Baildon C’s 182.

Tyson Illingworth took six for 47 as New Farnley C were bowled out for 142 and Chris Brewster hit an unbeaten 52 as Drighlington won by seven wickets.

The ever-consistent Simon Mace of Whitehall picked up nine for 45 as second-placed Mount were bowled out for 94, only for Whitehall to lose their last four wickets for eight runs as the match ended in a tie.

Wibsey Park Chapel’s dismal run continued as they were shot out for 46 attempting to chase down the 125 posted by Pudsey St Lawrence B.
