Nasir Khan and Kasheed Naveed starred for Taurus Sports to keep them top of DIVISION ONE in the Bradford Evening League.

Undefeated knocks of 51 and 53 respectively from Khan and overseas player Naveed guided unbeaten Taurus to a seven-wicket win over Sandy Lane.

This was after Waleed Akhtar (55no) and Ishtikhar Hussain (51no) had enabled Lane to post an imposing 167 for two.

Denholme remain second but only after a scare at Thornton, who fell just eight runs short of victory after Ross Parr (34no) had steered them close.

Chris Thompson (53no and 4-13) and Gareth Marshall (34) helped the visitors set 135 for five.

Lee Harbour (54no) helped a weakened Haworth Road side to 167 for four but Windhill scored the winning runs in the final over with nine wickets down.

Elsewhere, Shelf valiantly pursued Baildon Meths’ total of 142 for eight but finished short on 129 for six.

Bolton Villas edged a thriller at Shipley Providence in DIVISION TWO as Daniel Ward’s efforts proved in vain.

Chasing Villas’ 121 for four, Ward gave the hosts a good start before he had to retire after completing his half-century.

But a steady fall of wickets saw him return with 17 still needed off the final over and he almost achieved the feat, only managing a single off the final ball when a four was needed.

Leaders Jer Lane remain unbeaten after overhauling John Breare’s 143 for four, with skipper Andy Pinfield making a half-century in their seven-wicket win.

Kumon Centre stay second after Iqbal Khan (53no) and Manesh Patel (30) helped their side to 143 for eight.

Skipper Ham Khan then retired hurt for Cambing, who were eventually all out for 94.

Neil Copping (49) and Chris Dibb (36) were the heroes for Bingley Congs as they surpassed Royal Mail’s 125 for eight for the loss of five wickets with just two balls remaining.
