Bradford Gymkhana continued their unbeaten run at the top in Group A of the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League.

Ashfaq Khan scored 43 and took five for 31 as Gymkhana eased to a 49-run win over Cambing.

In the battle for second place, Yorkshire LPS came out on top with an eight-wicket win over Muffield, while Summit Sharma’s 74 helped Gymkhana B to an easy victory over Bowling Baptist.

Defending champions Bradford Property Rentals- Odsal continued their bad campaign when they lost to Omars by four wickets.

Only two points separate the top three in Group B, Hallfield having their lead cut to one point after losing to Cambing B.

Mayfield B moved into second after a nine-wicket win over Mandhata, Carl Bartley scoring an unbeaten 74, and Wayne Clarke’s 62 helped Cross Roads-Daisy Hill to a comfortable triumph over BPR-Odsal B.

With Heaton having a bye, Buttershaw took the opportunity to narrow the gap at the top of Group C to eight points by defeating Cross Roads-Daisy Hill B.

Andy Lee took four for 24 before Dave O’Connell scored 59 as Buttershaw won by eight wickets.

Stuart Morrison made an unbeaten 73 and Richard Watmough 54 as West Bowling notched only their third win of the season over Central YMCA, despite half-centuries from Andy Meridith and Ian Davies.

* Although receiving some sympathy, an appeal to the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League’s Umpires’ Association for leniency towards young bowlers being warned for delivering beamers has fallen on deaf ears.

The plea came from league vice-chairman Graham Langton.
