3:10pm Monday 6th February 2012 in Bradford League By Bill Marshall
The JCT600 Bradford League have made a small deficit on the year ended September 30, 2011.
A loss of £636 was reported to the annual meeting at Pudsey Congs Cricket Club, compared to a profit of £870 the year before but treasurer David Young said of the deficit: “I am quite pleased with that because we have done quite a lot of things this year, like the registration system and a course for groundsmen etc.”
The league still had an accumulated fund of £40,357, and Young added: “I believe it is 1984 since league subscriptions last went up, and the management board propose that there is no increase this year.”
Fines were up from £895 to £1,095, which Young said was down to “two particularly hefty fines being levied”.
The league’s much-admired website made a surplus of £403, but the new player registration system, which cost £1,322, will only incur an annual fee of £250 thereafter.
Half of the surplus from the Sovereign Healthcare Priestley Cup and Priestley Shield (£3,782) will go to the Bradford League Benevolent Fund.
