TABLE-TOPPING Hanging Heaton were a team in a hurry as they romped to a ten-wicket win over East Bierley.

Paceman David Stiff took 5-19 and left-arm spinner Muhammed Rameez (4-24) as they bowled out their opponents for just 80 in the Bradford Premier League top flight.

Skipper Gary Fellows sped his team to their victory target with an unbeaten 54.

Pudsey St Lawrence reduced Hanging Heaton's lead to just five points with four games to go after beating Pudsey Congs by six wickets.

Joe Greaves made a sparkling 104 for Congs, hitting six sixes and six fours, which helped his side post a total of 257-6. Callum Geldart gave him support with 48.

St Lawrence paced their reply well. Opener Adam Waite (72) and Barrie Frankland (70) provided a strong platform which enabled skipper James Smith to launch into the Congs bowling with an unbeaten 58 from 42 balls which enabled his side to win with 20 balls to spare and net a maximum 20 points.

Third-placed Farsley are 11 points back from St Lawrence and still in the hunt after a 51-run win over Bradford & Bingley. Skipper James Price made 64 at the top of the order while Greg Pickles weighed in with 48 in a total of 212-7. The pick of the Bradford & Bingley bowlers was skipper Scott Etherington with 4-23.

Bradford & Bingley were bowled out for 161 as spinner Adam Ahmed again impressed for Farsley with a spell of

4-35.

Bottom team Scholes are continuing to fight for their top-flight lives. They completed the double over neighbours Cleckheaton as they secured a five-wicket win at New Popplewell Lane.

Yasir Ali set up their latest triumph by taking 6-61 as Cleckheaton were restricted to 180-9. Only Ian Nicholson with an unbeaten 71 and Chris Holliday (38) made an impression for Cleckheaton. Scholes, encouraged by their performance with the ball, eased to victory with overseas player Rizwan Ahmed (71no) and Ali (35no) leading the way.

Scholes are still 37 points adrift of safety, but they are showing the sort of character that keeps alive the possibility of a great escape.

Morley missed a golden chance to lift themselves out of the bottom two in a low-scoring game at Woodlands. The prospects of a Morley win seemed remote when they were bowled out for 98 by spinners Chris Brice (6-28) and Kez Ahmed (3-31), but they had a golden chance to gain a much-needed win when they reduced Woodlands to 59-9.

Opening bowlers Matthew Dowse (6-38) and Nathan Bromby (3-36) looked to have given their side a vital lifeline until the last-wicket pair of Elliot Richardson (28no) and Kez Ahmed (13no) steered their side to a one-wicket triumph.

Lightcliffe halted their slide with an eight-wicket win over a New Farnley side that has gone off the boil since winning the Heavy Woollen Cup.

Opening bowler Jonathan Whiteoak produced an impressive spell of 7-62 as New Farnley were dismissed for 130. Opener James Middlebrook (40) provided the only score of note.

Lightcliffe made sure they capitalised on Whiteoak's good work with skipper Alex Stead (57no) steering them to their target with help from Ian Philliskirk (37) and Suleman Khan (30no).
