YEADON boosted their All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League promotion hopes by defeating Batley by 42 runs to reduce their Championship Division A lead to just four points.

Veteran spinner Damon Gormley was the match-winner for Yeadon with 5-13 as Batley were dismissed for 139 in replying to the home side's 181-9.

Aqsad Ali (53) and Asif Ayub (35) steadied the Batley innings after the loss of two early wickets, but once they were parted the innings declined.

Yeadon's innings was built around the efforts of Max Maciver (51), Oliver Halliday (49) and Taine Jolley (33no).

The pick of the Batley bowlers were Muhammed Shahnawaz (3-35) and Tariq Hussain (3-39).
