BATLEY have a 17-point lead at the top of the All Rounder Cricket Bradford League Championship A division after they defeated Baildon by 20 runs and second-placed Yeadon suffered a seven-wicket defeat at Liversedge.

Opener Aqeel Mukhtar hit his second century in successive games to set Batley on their way to a total of 195-8.

Mukhtar hit 11 fours as he batted throughout his side's entire innings of 195-8 to make 103 not out.

Tariq Mehboob (41) provided the main support against an attack in which left-arm spinner Mushtaq Ahmed took 4-42.

Baildon's reply was led by Jonny Reynolds (38) and Mounam Ejaz (38no), but they were restricted to 175-9 by some accurate bowling from Aqsad Ali (4-31).

Openers Jessie Dinnie (74) and Mark Hydes (62no) shared a first-wicket stand of 125 as Liversedge eased past Yeadon's 176-7 with 7.5 overs in hand.

Zach Wheatley top scored with 59 not out for Yeadon as Wasim Khaliq picked up 3-40.

Fourth-placed Osset maintained their good run of form by inflicting a second-successive defeat on Undercliffe, the team immediately above them in the table.

Shabir Rashid proved to be the star of the show with a sparkling 122 not out.

He laced his innings with seven sixes and 12 fours and capitalised on the brisk start given to his side by opener Harvey Anderson (46) as Ossett posted a score of 257-7.

Spinner Amir Hussain was the best of the Undercliffe bowlers with 4-47.

Undercliffe were unable to generate sufficient momentum to threaten the Ossett total.

They lost wickets regularly with only Toby Thorpe (52) making an impression as Raheel Ahmed (3-27), Khalid Usman (3-36) and Anderson (3-63) bowled Ossett to victory.

Birstall appear to have found the winning habit. They followed up last week's victory at Undercliffe with an eight-wicket home success against Hunslet Nelson.

The victory was set up by the bowling of Alexander Debs (5-42) and Alexander Drake (4-30) as Hunslet Nelson's brittle batting cracked and they were dismissed for 99.

Craig Wood made an unbeaten 48 to ensure that Birstall won with ease.

Idle were sent spinning to defeat at Roberts Park where Saltaire's spinners Tanzeel Altaf (4-29) and Ijaz Khan (4-40) held the key to their side's four-wicket win.

Khalid Mehmood (49) and Simon Curry (30no) ensured that Idle posted a score of 156, which Saltaire cruised past in just 26.3 overs thanks to Amjid Hussain (44) and Adeel Ashraf (48no).
