HANGING Heaton will be aiming to win the Priestley Shield for the third time in four seasons when they meet Woodlands in this season's final at Cleckheaton on Sunday, August 7.

Both last-four results in the All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League competition for second teams were emphatic, with Heaton overcoming Bowling Old Lane by 119 runs and Woodlands scoring a 131-run win at Farsley.

Consistent batting from Francis Nelson (45), Chris Goodair (36no), Adeel Hafeez (33), Oliver Newton (32) and Stephen Bourne (30) helped Heaton build a match-winning score of 246-6, Adam Zahid (2-35) being the best of the Old Lane bowlers.

Old Lane never looked like threatening this total and lost wickets at regular intervals on their way to 127 all out as spinner Jamie Baulk (4-20) and Oliver Newton (3-13) took advantage, Zeeshan Haider top-scoring with 35.

Woodlands found conditions to their liking at Red Lane as they racked up 301-4.

Liam Collins hit three sixes and 13 fours in his 95, while Cieran Garner (84), Jack Bleazard (59no) and Robert Medcalf (30no) added to bowlers' misery.

Garner and Collins shared a third-wicket stand of 166, while Bleazard and Medcalf put on an unbroken 90 for the fifth.

Farsley's reply ended on 170, with Tom Lightfoot taking 3-33 and Gary Rodger (3-27). The top scorers were Adam Slater (31) and David Kenyon (31).

* Liversedge clinched a thrilling last-ball win over Townville to secure their place in the final of the Wheatley Cup for lower-tier clubs at Wrenthorpe on Sunday, August 21.

Their four-wicket success means they will take on Northowram Field, who overcame Crossbank Methodists by eight wickets.

William Atkin (46), James Lunn (41) and David Ashton (31no) were the players who ensured that Liversedge chased down Townville's score of 161.

Opener Steve Walton (44) and Dale Jones (32) were the top scorers for Townville as Adam Clarke took 3-27.

An opening stand of 73 between Paul Bottomley (64no) and Louis Cockburn (43) gave Northowram Fields the perfect start as they overhauled a Crossbank Methodists total of 156-9. Lewis Moore helped complete the task with 37 not out.

Crossbank's top scorer had been Wasim Latiof (33) as Nathan Rushworth (2-12) and Callum Philipson (2-12) kept things tight.
