YEADON are the new Championship A Division leaders in the All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League.

While they were romping to a 143-run win over bottom club Idle, Batley were being knocked off top spot for the first time this season after a two-wicket defeat at Ossett.

Yeadon's victory, which earned them 18 points, was also the quickest of the day as they skittled Idle for 40, Kiwi bowler Taine Jolley taking 6-9.

Zeeshan Syed (13) was the only batsman to make double figures in an Idle innings that was boosted by 13 extras.

Yeadon, whose promotion charge has been rapidly gathering momentum, had earlier recovered from 20-3 to make 183-6 declared in 37 overs.

The revival was led by Max Maciver and Damon Gormley, who both hit half-centuries, McIver striking eight fours in his 59 and Gormley hitting three sixes and two fours while making 58.

Batley were bowled out for 113 by Charles Orme (4-32) and Khalid Usman (3-23).

Ossett did not have things all their own way but edged home, with Usman making 35 and Shabbir Rashid 32.

Opening bowlers Zeeshan Qasim and Craig Wiseman delivered a 134-run win for third-placed Undercliffe, who are 16 points adrift of Batley.

Qasim was the chief destroyer with 6-24 and Wiseman took 3-30 as Hunslet Nelson were bowled out for 70.

Gulsheraz Ahmed had led the way with the bat for Undercliffe, top-scoring with 67 and being supported by Toby Thorpe (44) and Jonathan Hughes (32) in 204-8, made in 40 overs after a rain-delayed start.

The match between Saltaire and Baildon was interestingly poised when rain led to play being abandoned with Baildon 48-4 in reply to Saltaire's 114.

Atbaab Hussain was the mainstay of the Saltaire innings against a bowling attack in which spinner Mushtaq Ahmed took 3-23 and Mounam Ejaz 3-25.

Keighley's hopes of a second win of the season went down the drain at Liversedge.

Benjamin Hastie's superb knock of 90 looked to have them on course for victory at 142-4 after 25 overs when rain had the final say.

Keighley were closing in on their opponents' score of 171-7 in a 35-overs-per-side contest when the end came.

Steve Lane (37), Paul Marlow (34) and Jessie Dinnie (33) made the main contributions for Liversedge.
