TWINS Edward and Marcus Walmsley returned to Bankfoot to inflict double trouble on their former club in Championship B Division of the All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League.

The Walmsleys helped Methley get back to winning ways after two painful defeats.

Edward (3-9) and Marcus (3-23) helped dismiss Bankfoot for 71 in reply to Methley's 129, skipper Grant Soames top-scoring with 32 as Bankfoot's new Indian spinner Marupuri Suresh took 4-16 in 15 probing overs, while Greg Colehan picked up 3-27.

There seems no stopping Townville, who extended their lead to 44 points as they made it nine wins from nine games with a 24-run victory over second-placed Wrenthorpe, Jack Hughes making the dominant knock for the winners of 94.

New Zealander Matt Holstein produced the day's best bowling figures of 7-45 as his Altofts side dismissed Hopton Mills for 120 to secure a 73-run win.

Meanwhile, left-arm opening bowler James Russell continued his good start to the season by taking 4-31 as Gomersal dismissed Bowling Old Lane for 107 to set up a three-wicket win, Josh Fell (3-24) giving him good support.

Gomersal struggled against the bowling of Adal Islam (5-24) but edged home thanks to the efforts of Craig Lightowler (30).

Rob Warriner produced his season's-best figures of 5-25 as Spen Victoria secured a 36-run win over Carlton.

Stephen Cooper made a battling 55 and Farrukh Alam (33) as Carlton finished on 136 in reply to Spen's 172.

Evan Edwards led the way for the home side with 60, while skipper Ollie Davison made 45.

The basement battle went the way of Brighouse, who defeated Hartshead Moor by five wickets to record their second successive win.

In a match reduced to 40 overs per side due to a delayed start, Moor were restricted to 111-9, Nick Ward (36) top-scoring as Aleem Ladak took 3-21. Raja Najeeb's unbeaten 50 steered Brighouse home.
