THERE are 13 clubs still in the hunt for the Priestley Cup after a rain-hit second round of the All Rounder Bradford Premier League knockout competition.

The only definite tie for Sunday, June 26 is holders Bradford & Bingley at home to 2013 runners-up Hanging Heaton.

The winners of the Pudsey St Lawrence v Wrenthorpe tie will visit Undercliffe or Gomersal, while Woodlands or Cleckheaton will be at home to Baildon, who are the only other team through to the last eight. The other tie is Yeadon or Scholes v Lightcliffe or Batley.

The calculators had to come out to determine the outcome between Hanging Heaton and Townville.

Hanging Heaton (310-5 in 50 overs) had an overall run rate of 6.2 per over to Townville's 5.89, who made 232-6 off 37.5 overs.

The highlight of the match was a magnificent 170 from Hanging Heaton skipper Gary Fellows, which contained four sixes and 22 fours, Richard Foster (51) sharing a second-wicket stand of 116.

Yet Championship B Division leaders Townville were not daunted by the challenge in worsening light – and even losing their first five wickets for 89 did not dampen their spirits.

Connor Harvey and skipper Nick Bresnan, playing against his old club, launched a ferocious counter-attack which went within decimal points of snatching victory.

They put on 123 for the sixth wicket in 77 balls, with Harvey hitting six sixes and eight fours in an unbeaten 87 from 47 deliveries, while Bresnan's 52 came off 53 balls and contained three sixes and four fours.

David Stiff took 3-41 for Hanging Heaton, who were on the ropes when play was abandoned.

Charlie Best hit a stunning 112 off 89 balls as Bradford & Bingley defeated Methley by 88 runs in a 30-overs-per-side match.

Baildon defeated Carlton on the faster scoring rate in a rain-affected game after making 202-7 in 45 overs, Jonny Reynolds leading the way with 64. Carlton were 63-3 after 15 overs.

The remaining five ties will all have to be replayed this weekend.
