SPEN Victoria and Townville were the only All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League teams to dodge the showers and record victories in the Championship B Division.

The Cleckheaton club defeated Hartshead Moor by eight wickets, opener Craig Field (80no) top-scoring for basement boys Moor in their 152-6 as Brad Davis took 3-35.

New Zealander Nic Montgomery then made an unbeaten 86 and shared a second-wicket stand of 132 with skipper Ollie Davison (50) in Spen's victory.

Meanwhile, Townville stole a march on their promotion rivals by recording a 117-run win over Brighouse.

Jack Hughes continued his impressive start to the season by taking 5-7 in nine overs as Brighouse were skittled out for 48 in reply to Townville's 165-7 in the 30-overs-per-side contest.

Hughes had earlier top-scored with 42 as he and Australian Matthew Bremner (33) helped their side build their match-winning total, despite the efforts of Dannyaal Ahmed (3-27).

Promotion-chasing Methley were thwarted by the rain, with opponents Gomersal 27-1 in 11 overs when play was halted.

There was a similar amount of action at Hopton Mills, where the home side were 12-0 against Wrenthorpe, while Altofts were 19-1 after ten overs when play was abandoned in their clash with Bowling Old Lane.

Bankfoot made 199 against Carlton, thanks to Shoukat Ali (44), former Yorkshire player Neil Nicholson (43no) and Kamran Siddique (35).

The pick of the Carlton bowlers were Farrukh Alam (4-42) and Joshua Thurwell (3-45).

The visitors were then 34-1 after six overs when play had to be abandoned.

In the Conference Division, there were victories for Crossbank Methodists and East Ardsley but rain led to the abandonment of the other four fixtures.

East Ardsley's batsmen looked in good nick as they compiled 200-6 in 36 overs against Rodley.

Luke Sandy (55), Julian Smith (49) and Haseen Bashir (46) led the way before Rodley were restricted to 95-9 to complete a 105-run win.

Crossbank's second victory of the season came at the expense of Oulton.

Jackson Freeman made an unbeaten 92 for Great Preston in their clash with Northowram Fields as they totalled 154 in 42 overs, before the hosts were 119-5 after 22 overs when the rain came.

Majid Jahangir (46) and Ben Grech (42) top-scored for Northowram Fields.

East Leeds batted the full 50 overs as they made 202-8 against Gildersome, John Gomersall leading the way with 49 while Dean Atkinson scored 32 not out.

Gildersome were 116-5 after 20 overs of their reply when the weather spoilt any prospect of a positive result.

There was not a ball bowled in the match between Heckmondwike & Carlinghow and Wakefield St Michael's, while Azaad made 25-0 in seven overs before their fixture against Adwalton was abandoned.
