ALL Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League top-flight leaders Pudsey St Lawrence were among the day's big winners as rain took its toll on the fixtures.

Saints inflicted a second successive seven-wicket defeat on Hanging Heaton, while 2015 Division Two champions Morley took second place from them with a three-wicket triumph at New Farnley.

Both matches were 25 overs per side contests, and champions St Lawrence extended their 100 per cent record to five matches with some ease as they opened up an 18-point gap.

Hanging Heaton lost wickets in their pursuit of quick runs and were bowled out in 20.3 overs for 106.

They looked like being dismissed for an even smaller score when leg-spinner Tom Hudson (3-18) took three wickets in five balls to reduce them to 83-9 but last man Dan Busfield pushed the score past 100 with an unbeaten 16.

St Lawrence lost the reliable Mark Robertshaw to an early run out but Barrie Frankland (51no) and Adam Waite (31) ensured they reached their target with four overs to spare.

Morley secured their third win in five matches by chasing down New Farnley's 156-9 with four balls to spare.

Overseas player Kashif Naveed was a key figure for Morley, taking 4-23 with his left-arm spin before making 37 in the successful run chase.

Henry Rush (25), George Robson (23) and Ben Jenkinson (20no) all played their part for Morley as they inflicted a third defeat on third-from-bottom New Farnley.

The home side had built their total around the contributions of Nick Walker (35), Richard Atkins (28) and Lee Goddard (27).

The match between Farsley and Cleckheaton was interestingly poised when rain brought it to a close with 14 overs to play.

Cleckheaton were 71-5 off 20 overs as they replied to Farsley's 166-7 in a 34 overs per side match.

Yorkshire's James Wainman was the main threat with 3-29.

A fourth-wicket stand of 65 between Dan Hodgson (44) and Ryan Cooper (37) was a key element in Farsley's innings, as was the late hitting of Chris Henry, who smashed four sixes in his 32 from just 13 balls.

Curtis Free, who like Wainman will play for the All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League against a Yorkshire XI on Thursday evening at Pudsey Congs, took 3-54.

The clash between last season's Priestley Cup finalists Bradford & Bingley and Lightcliffe was abandoned early in the Lightcliffe innings as they replied to Bradford & Bingley's 154-6.

After a delayed start, the 30 overs a side contest was hit by further rain stoppages.

The first came just nine overs into the game with Bradford & Bingley 47-0.

When play resumed, Lightcliffe hit back with Rob Burton taking three wickets in five balls to reduce them to 52-3. Burton's victims included the big-hitting Noman Ali, who hit six sixes in an over in the previous Sunday's Priestley Cup win over Liversedge.

Opener Jack Edgar (68no) and Martin Walker (32) led a revival as Bradford & Bingley posted 154-6 as Burton finished with 3-23.

Lightcliffe were 11-1 off 5.2 overs when play was abandoned.

Bottom two East Bierley and Scholes saw their respective matches at home to East Bierley and at Pudsey Congs abandoned without a ball being bowled.
